at The Nantwich Theatre from 30th to 31st of March 2019
Neston Players are preparing for another production this spring with an entry in the Cheshire One Act Drama Festival. It will be directed by Helen Boothby, who is returning to the players after a few years away.
The selected play is an original script, "Away Game" by Cliff Inns. It will be cast from Neston Players members only, and, as it's a one-act play, it's relatively short. It's planned to have just one rehearsal per week, on a Wednesday, starting in early February, with perhaps extras added if and when required.
There won't be a separate presentation evening, but everyone is welcome to come along to the auditions, which will be a relaxed format with everyone reading and/or auditioning together. There are parts for two men and two women, playing married couples setting off for a long weekend mini-break together. The parts are roughly the same size, so the workload is shared. The script implies characters aged in the range 50s to 60s, but there may be some scope for flexibility if younger people come forward.
Auditions will be held at NCYC on Wednesday 23rd January.
Everyone attending should arrive for 7.30pm prompt, please.
It won't be possible for anyone to have parts in both "Away Game" and "The Importance of Being Earnest", but NP members can still audition for both plays and let the directors know what their preferences would be if they were successful in both auditions. Priority will be given to casting "The Importance of Being Earnest" first, and final casting decisions for "Away Game" will be made soon after.
